As of the 10th of September 2015 the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) has put in place a new online product registration system. Every shipment intended for import into Nigeria must be approved by SON electronically before customs clearance can begin.
It is important to note that this online product registration does not have any fees. If you are asked at any point of the online product registration process to pay any sum please do not proceed and report as much information as you have to SON or to any other relevant party. No official is authorized to ask for any payment for online product registration.
