United Arab Emirates and Nigeria: new trade activities between both countries

To boost bilateral trade and investment volume between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), a series of promotional activities has commenced between the two countries.

The trade promotion initiative, coordinated in collaboration with the UAE International Investment Council (UAEIIC), the UAE Ministry of Economy and the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investments in Nigeria, focuses on attracting key industry stakeholders and investors across all sectors in Nigeria and the UAE in a bid to develop and explore future trade opportunities.

Nigeria has been chosen among a 34 selected list of countries worldwide participating in the initiative owing to the crucial position she occupies as a top investment market in Africa, according to a statement from the UAE Nations embassy in Nigeria. Equally vital is Nigeria’s influence as the largest market in the continent.

The UAE Minister of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MOFAIC), Sheikh Shakhboot Bin Al Nahyan, remarked that the UAE is the 9th largest exporter to Nigeria globally and that the UAE continues to see Nigeria, the largest economy in Africa, as an important, trusted partner.
