In the SONCAP process, the Product Registration is the last stage when importing into Nigeria. Read on to discover its different steps and procedure.
What is Product Registration?
Product Registration is a procedure that allows SON to make an inventory of all products imported into the country for sale. All Items imported into Nigeria for commercial purposes require SON Product Registration. The importance of this procedure is for the end users to be comfortable with item of import being purchased and for SON to have a record of all items being imported to the country having passed through quality checks at the country of origin (traceability). It is the last step before importation because it is done as soon as the goods are moved out of the port after clearing. Once the procedure is completed, the client receives a seal on the goods which shows the goods are being registered by SON.
